One fine year..

Tronic’s busiest year in quite a while and what a fantastically fulfilling year of electronic music it has been. Our first Glasgow gathering at the start of the year was the nights 5th birthday and the uber cool Capitals helped us celebrate the occasion in some style. Developing into ‘the next big thing’ the band then gained slots playing Rockness, Wickerman and numerous other summer festivals, followed by a mini European tour. Very nicely done and we are certain the hard work will pay off. Keep an eye out next year.

Spring sprung on us with a Tronic leap into a night of tasty techno, as we rolled the Tronic PA into Basura Blanca. Probably for the last time, as we were promptly given a Basura ban for making too much noise.

Blame the brilliant I am Blip and Voltergeist for that one. Apologies to anyone trying to get the head down at the hotel that night, but to be fair, most folk staying there were probably raising their hands to the wee basement venue’s roof anyway.

Rudi Zygadlo. Man of the moment in our eyes. Certainly man
of May earlier in the year for Tronic as the Planet Mu starlet strolled back
into town and delivered an amazing live set for us. Certainly without doubt rivalling
any of Warp’s fresh faced finest right now. Not that’s it is a competition. However that night, Tronic had a battle of heavy sounds, banging a hole right into the Note basement wall.

An invite to one of Glasgow’s exciting new club nights was next. Point 4 being a collaboration of promoters and party goers, we gladly brought our audio and visual spectacle to the Soundhaus stage, for what turned out to be a top night (followed by the sad news of the venues 2012 closure)

The mighty Modifier stealing the show, backed up with live percussion and Euan Mackenzie on the super mind spinning visuals, it was a set to remember. A year to remember for the band in fact, as Modifier then featured on Dave Seaman’s globally renowned ‘Renaissance’ compilation. Had tracks championed by the likes of Sasha, Laurent Garnier and had an astounding collaboration with street artist Rogue One creating a bit of a masterpiece.

A second night at Point 4 more recently followed and Tronic are pretty sure the variety and enthusiasm these guys show for electronic club sounds will see the night progress well. This time round with his blistering Dub-Step was Shamanic Technology. The talented Herb producer representing team Tronic flawlessly and is sure to be a key player from Bristol to London and everything in between.

Good times all round and not forgetting the summer Herb Recordings special, where some of the label’s finest were showcased by Tronic.

The new Benbecula we reckon with the Scottish label having an array of fine musicians and electronic artists from all over the UK. A label where music matters in our opinion.

So in Glasgow’s thriving music scene, if not slightly over crowded music scene, electronic is alive. Tronic continue to try and make an impression and have had fun all the way in doing so this year. Thanks to all those that got involved.
Have a mighty fine Christmas and New Year, see you in 2012.

Shamanic Technology
ESQ vs Megamegaman

Shamanic Technology burns a new path for all of us who are into our IDM, Dubstep and Techno. Melding all these influences together into hard energetically dirty bass ridden tracks with sublime dark melodies complimenting the full force of the wobble. Hailing from Bournemouth, he does not often get to play North of the border, so this will be a special live treat for us all. With releases out on Glasgows very own Herb Records he should be no stranger to the Scottish underground community and a welcome live addition to both the TRONIC rosta and his Scottish fan base. Shamanic Technology will be the TRONIC  headline act for the main room for this Point 4 event.

Shamanic techno perhaps, but influences go deeper, a true melting pot of electronica style and substance.

ESQ vs Megamegaman is Greg Peebles and Chris Stevens, AKA ESQ and Megamegaman. Together they have formed up as an awesome super hero electronic duo, ready to do battle with the forces of techno and electro. With little known about their style as a duo, we can only speculate at  the oncoming good-ness. However if we take a look at ESQ and also Megamegaman, then I do believe we will all be putting our hands in the air. These two Glasgow producers never let us down with their solo projects. Its going to be double lashings of electro joy with the two of them. These lads will be supporting Shamanic Technology @ Point 4 on November 11th.

Will it be dubstep, will it be electro, I think some techno too.

Kenny Humphries is Glasgow's finest rising star on the DJ circuit. With an upcoming support slot with Erol Alkan we are very pleased to have this top DJ along to warm up the main room for our live guys, with his unique style of techno, deep house and old school greatness. This DJ is not simply a warm up act, he will set the standard for the night. We do not usually pick DJ's to play at TRONIC, so to get this honour you need to be very good at your craft. Kenny is just that. Opening the main room @ Point 4 November 11th.

He is not just ANY....DJ. He is a techno covered, house filled, electro.....TRONIC DJ.
